2012 Summary

After a long but enjoyable season we can only conlude with much disappointment and frustration on the competitive side.

We missed out on promotion in the Darlington & District League due to our points dedcution for failing to cancel a fixture on time. Our Sherwood League seson started on a high and deteriorated to mid-table and our Durham League Season was a distaster due to having to cancel 2 games and forgo 20 points.

Despite all this we gained some stability, saw wonderful improvement in our youngsters and hope to keep them all together for next season.

The low point of 2012 was the unprofessional approach taken by Rolling Mills BC and the Darlington & District League. A dispute over green fees was a major issue. Rolling Mills BC refused to play our full team and the League backed them all the way with full bias. This marred the seasons enjoyment and contributed to a downturn in team selection and results.

Further to these problems we haev managed to enter the South West Durham League for Monday nights which we thoroughly look forward to which is likely to see us leave the Darlington & District League after 115 years service.

Lets now look ahead to keeping the club on an even keel and our presentation night 17th November at Central WMC starring Oli Patterson (see youtube!)
